Other than being a citizen of a non-EU country, there are no requirements for participation. Our coaching sessions always start where the participants are. In an initial “profiling” session, we work together to assess their prior knowledge and determine how the coaching can be tailored to their individual needs.
A smartphone is generally sufficient, but a laptop or computer is helpful. We support our participants with installing the necessary software. If internet access is not available, we can also provide mobile data credit in specific cases. Much of the content can also be discussed over the phone.
The duration of the coaching program depends on the participants’ individual needs and availability. Ideally, we’ll have about 4–6 weeks to work through the material together in a structured way.
Yes, in most cases, it is possible to participate even on short notice. Please contact us as soon as possible so that we can work together to determine whether and how your participation can still be arranged.
No. We can also work on the business idea together. Besides, becoming self-employed isn’t necessarily the goal. Our program is also designed for people who want to pursue other career paths, such as a permanent position. We tailor the coaching to each person’s individual situation and goals.
Together with the participants, we evaluate the business idea in light of local market conditions in their home country. If it becomes clear that an idea would be difficult to implement there, we help the participants adapt their idea or develop alternative business opportunities.
Our coaching is designed to prepare participants so that they can take their next steps on their own. In addition, whenever possible, we connect them with transnational partners, local support networks, or organizations in their country of origin.
For some countries of origin, we have the option of organizing so-called pre-departure calls with local contacts. This allows participants to learn about local support services and general conditions early on and to establish initial contacts.
If participants already have startup capital, we take this into account when planning the business idea. Together, we develop a realistic plan for how existing funds can be put to good use—for example, for investments, materials, or initial operating costs. Our program itself does not offer financial support.
In addition to in-person coaching sessions, online coaching sessions or hybrid coaching sessions are always available. If in-person coaching is desired in any case, we will cover travel expenses and, in specific cases, hotel expenses for the participants.
Yes, provided the person also holds citizenship of a non-EU country. Individuals with dual citizenship are generally able to participate in the program.
