Sport is for Everyone is a platform dedicated to making access to sports fair and inclusive. Founded by a Senegalese migrant in Germany, the initiative shares stories, builds a growing database, and supports BIPoC, queer people, migrants, and other marginalized communities in finding safe spaces, resources, and representation in the world of sports and outdoor activities.
1. What do you offer?
A platform working to make Sport accessible to Everyone. We share stories, provide
resources, and build a database to make it easier for BIPoC, queer folks, migrants,
and marginalized athletes to access safe spaces and opportunities in sport.
2. Why did you start your organization or initiative?
Because of personal experiences as someone from Senegal now established in
Germany, because of the inequalities, the frustration, the inaccessibilities and barriers
to get into Sport —> but also because of the Hope, the Joy and the Solidarity that can
be found in sports.
3. What do you want to achieve with your organisation or idea?
We aim to create lasting visibility and support for communities who are too often
excluded. Our goal is to offer resources, amplify voices, and build a global network
that proves: inclusivity in sport is not just possible, it is necessary.
4. What does a more equitable outdoor scene mean to you?
A fairer outdoor scene means dismantling barriers of race, class, gender, and ability
so that everyone can move freely in nature and with equity.
5. Why do we need to make nature more accessible to BIPoC?
Nature belongs to all of us. We want to remind the World about that because
historically BIPOC have been excluded from outdoor spaces through racism, colonial
histories, and structural barriers.
6. What specifically do you want from the outdoor community and society to enable genuine participation and safe spaces for BIPoC?
We wish for recognition that outdoor spaces are political. True inclusion
requires accountability, resources, and safe structures. We call for the outdoor
community to actively create welcoming environments, provide support for
BIPoC-led initiatives, and challenge exclusionary norms.
7. Which (outdoor) role models or movements have inspired you?
A lot of climate justice movements and activists, migrant and queer sport collectives in
Berlin and many close friends
8. What are your hopes for the OUTO Changemaker Program?
Enough tools to push Sport is for Everyone FORWARD
9. What motivates you most about participating in the OUTO Changemaker Program?
The chances of having more impact by being a stronger number, the knowledge that
myself alone cannot make change without the collective and the love for exchange and
new challenges.
10. What advice would you give to others who want to promote a more inclusive outdoor scene?
Meeting new outdoors friends, getting support on bringing my ideas to life and
broadening my perspective
11. Complete the sentence: Nature means to me...
Life, Harmony, co-habitation for people and the planet,
