A New Beginning in Jordan

The father of five came to Germany in 2022 to build a new life. However, due to a lack of opportunities, he eventually decided to voluntarily return to his home country.

In August 2023, the return counselling office of the Central Foreigners' Authority of Oberbayern reached out to the Munich team of StartHope@Home to support Mohamad on his path to self-employment. With 30 years of experience in various professional fields, he successfully completed an online coaching before returning to the Jordanian city of Irbid at the end of September, equipped with a business plan and lots of motivation.

Throughout the entire coaching process, Mohamad remained highly motivated to develop new business concepts and eagerly worked with his coach to create his business plan. The intensive coaching at StartHope@Home covered a variety of modules designed to prepare Mohamad for his entrepreneurial future. Following an in-depth profiling, the coaching covered topics such as mindset & reflection, idea generation, customer analysis, product development & value proposition, financial planning, as well as marketing & social media. This comprehensive preparation provided him with the necessary foundation to successfully implement his business idea in his home country.

At first, Mohamad had planned to start his own chicken butchery. But sometimes, things go differently than planned: He ultimately decided to open a car repair shop. We were very pleased when a few months after his return, we received the news that he had successfully carried out his plan.

Despite many challenges along the way, Mohamad did not get discouraged and was able to use his many years of professional experience as well as the newly acquired skills from the StartHope@Home coaching for his fresh professional start.
