Kingsleyjoe from Nigeria plans to open a store to sell high-quality shoes for kids and teenagers.
Kingsleyjoe Omeni came to participate in StartHope@Home in April 2018 through the help of a volunteer. Since then he took the opportunity to engage in different workshops and coachings, which are part of our training. He was highly motivated, very engaged, interested to acquire new knowledge and capacious during workshops.
End of July 2018 he returns to Abuja, Nigeria, where Kingsley would like to return to the shoe-trade and open a shoe-shop in Abuja’s market. He wants to specialise selling shoes for kids and teenager with a high quality.
Through StartHope@Home we were able to support his enterprise:
“I acquired enough knowledge here at Starthope@Home and Social impact, so that I am well prepared, to carry out my business. Because from all the different modules I have gotten here - marketing, finance calculation, negotiation, online sales and so on - I am optimistic that the shoe business will grow and achieve the expected goals for which I want to set it up again.”
Before travelling to Europe and applying for Asylum in German in 2012 he was already the owner of a shoe-shop in Abuja’s market. A fire in 2011 destroyed the market and his business and forced him to look for an alternative future.
He gained new inspiration visiting German shoe-business, along with exceeding knowledge and new contacts, thus, he is returning motivated to Abuja to re-open and expand his project.
“Some of my aspirations are to be one of the major popular shoe dealers in Abuja, to remain in the shoe business and finally to make revenues.”
In the future, Kingsleyjoe wishes to fulfill his dream and study, but for now he has to concentrate on building his business.
He has already contacted the Migration Centre in Nigeria for further support. We are eager to see his project developing and (as he always liked to say) “Toi, toi, toi!”
